CITI brings UN war crimes tribunal transcription to Canada
Ottawa, June 6, 2003: The United Nations War Crimes Tribunal on the former Yugoslavia (UN ICTY) wanted to reduce adminstrative costs and turnaround times for their official French language transcriptions. They turned to the world's leading real-time court reporting firm, Viva Voce Reporting of Ottawa for help.
Viva Voce determined that these transcription services would be more affordable if produced in Canada. What they needed was a way to get the Un ICTY proceedings from The Hague to their offices in Ottawa. An international court in a suitcase?
Consolidated Information Technologies answered the call. We designed, built and deployed a complete workflow management system that transmits digital audio recordings of French language proceedings in The Hague over the Internet to VVR's Ottawa offices for transcription. Because of the confidential nature of the court's proceedings and the mission critical transcript submission deadlines, the infrastructure was built around military level security and fault tolerance. Finally, our workflow software automatically deligates the transcription work within VVR's ofices and tracks the progress of transcripts throughout the production lifecycle.
